Can't get rid of that COLD? Maybe it's MOLD!

What’s the first thing that pops into your head when you think about MOLD? Do you think of that old bread you forgot you bought months ago in the pantry? Maybe you think about that pesky little spot in your shower. Perhaps you think of actual uses of mold like cheese or penicillin! Unless you’re someone who has already been severely impacted by the effects of mold, you might not understand that mold affecting YOU and YOUR HEALTH is actually a very likely possibility. Don’t worry… I’m not trying to scare you into tearing down your entire house or running to the emergency room. However, it’s very important to understand the signs and symptoms of a mold infestation, what you can do if you have one (or suspect you do), and how you can prevent it from happening. Many people don't realize this, but mold growth actually mimics symptoms of a cold and allergies!

It's important to know that it's possible to be allergic to mold, but that even if you aren't allergic you may still experience physical symptoms. It's not uncommon for us to believe we have caught a cold, or that our allergies are constantly acting up when in fact, the root of the problem is an overgrowth of mold in our home. Symptoms of mold irritation include wheezing, difficulty breathing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and coughing. If you have clear visual signs of mold in your home or work place, it's crucial that you seek a mold testing and remediation service immediately. STAYED TUNED for our next blog - you definitely don't want to miss it! There's so many things many of us do on a daily basis that can actually contribute to mold growth. You might actually be surprised!
